BRiTE LiteBRiTE Lite is a single interactive research methods module that introduces students to a variety of approaches used in social science research in order to understand the fundamental skills applied in the scientific method using real student-derived experimental data. As the instructor, you get access to tools that immediately summarize student data for use in your lectures. We've even developed the lecture material. This unit is simply "plug and play.” It is best suited for use in introductory courses, research methods, and advanced topic courses. It can be delivered in 1-3 class periods. The primary goals are to instruct students in the following areas:
BRiTE Lite explores a range of methodological approaches and methods used in social science research, critically examining their strengths and weaknesses. BRiTE Lite’s computerized experiments collect and compile data for use in classroom demonstrations to solidify content mastery. Instructional videos provide expanded content information on each topic. BRiTE Lite’s built-in assessments make keeping track of student’s progress easy for instructors and students. Sample Student Interactive LessonIn this lesson, students are learning about quantitative methods used in research. Here, they read more about distributions and then practice drawing distributions that describe the observed data patient recoveries following treatment for depression. They are provided immediate, interactive feedback to facilitate learning.
Sample Instructor Resources PageWe wanted to give you a product that is built and ready-to-go, but we understand that sometimes you want to make things your own. From the instructor resources features, you can modify content and make it your own and even choose which subject-specific experiments will run (e.g., psychology, general science, economics).

BRiTE ProBRiTE Pro is a full integrated research methods curriculum that introduces students to statistics and the methodological approaches of social science research. It includes 12 learning modules and 10 experimental modules. The learning modules blend instruction of research methods with statistics to increase the applied approach to learning. Students shouldn't learn statistics in a vacuum, using this approach; they'll leave your course understanding research and finally grasping how to use statistics. The course is able to be customized, allowing you to choose which experiments you wish to include and which topics you'd like to cover.
BRiTE Pro is designed for research methods classrooms with or without a lab component. It is available for psychology, social sciences, and medicine. Available modules include:
Need something less? See BRiTE Light for a tool that incorporates live experimentation and research instruction into your general science, introductory course, or special topics course.
